There are a lot of exciting things happening for us at Triumphant Tails this Summer!

Most importantly, we are currently helping an injured Iraq war veteran raise funds for a desperately needed service dog.

During his last tour in Iraq, Sgt. Thomas was one of only two soldiers in his unit to survive an ambush.  He was severely physically and emotionally scarred.  Triumphant Tails is currently training Zoe, a rescued Great Dane, to be a service dog to address Sgt. Thomas' needs.  When Zoe has completed her training, she will be able to:

·        Alert him to take his medication

·        Interrupt episodes of Catatonia

·        Interrupt Night Terrors

·        Alert and respond to Flashbacks

·        Execute Search and Rescue

We are also moving to a new (larger) facility which will allow us to accommodate basic thru advanced dog training classes as well as  Therapy Dog & Agility classes (no age limit, children as well as adults) and Animal Assisted Therapy sessions. We will keep you updated on the progress!!

Staff, volunteers, some of our dogs, and even some of our handlers will be out at many events in the Raleigh area this summer.  Hopefully we will see you there!

We are also excited to be able to participate in the Paws4Ever Summer Camp in late July.  This is a great program is for teens interested in working with dogs.  Our team will be out on site to teach campers about working with Service Dogs and they'll get some hands on experience too!
